![]() Novellas are published on Straylight's website, not in the print edition, due to the restrictions on length inherent in a physical journal. Straylight Online is interested in publishing high quality, novella-length stories of any genre besides fan fiction or erotica. We will not consider partial submissions or simultaneous submissions. With your submission, please include a brief, 25 word bio written in the third person to be published with your work. If you have work that you would like to see featured on our site, please submit your story below. Genre is less important than interesting characters, plot, and setting. We would like to see stories under 1,000 words. ![]() However, we welcome submissions that cross genre boundaries as well as those that explore the way that visual art, music, and literature combine to produce new manifestations of story and verse. We still look for stories and poems with a strong sense of place and moments that are character-centered rather than those that rely on plot turns and literary tricks. This publication is dedicated to exploring narrative of all fashion. Straylight Online does not mirror the content of the print edition. We buy First North American Rights and we pay in copies, although we hope to be able to offer more substantial payment soon. Works without titles will not be considered. Please include a title and the medium of each piece. Make sure that all work for print is at least 300dpi and that it is formatted as either a jpeg or png file. We consider are of any style or medium for both the cover and the art insert included in each print issue. Word counts are not necessary with poetry submissions. Include a cover letter with a brief bio (no more than 50 words) with your submission. Poems can be single spaced, but start each poem on a new page, and the author’s name should appear with each poem. Include 3-6 poems with your single submission. We will consider poems of any style, as long as they are inventive. Please include the approximate word count in the cover letter as well. Pagination should be included thereafter. Manuscripts should be typed and double spaced with the author’s name and contact information in the upper left corner of the first page. See the next column for online guidelines. We will not consider novels, novellas, or partial manuscript for our print issue, but we do serialize novellas online. We will consider work between 1500-5000 words for the print issue, and we prefer stories between 3500-5000 words. ![]() We tend not to publish strict genre pieces, though we may query them for future special issues. The title provides a platform for some of the most exciting new writing and illustration talent from around the globe. Steve Pill at The Chelsea Magazine Company has been appointed Publisher. The 17 th title to be published by The Chelsea Magazine Company, Popshot Magazine was previously published and edited independently by Jacob Denno, who will remain Editor. The publication will sit within the company’s Travel & Leisure portfolio which includes Artists & Illustrators, The English Home and BRITAIN magazine. Popshot Magazine is the newest addition to The Chelsea Magazine Company’s ever-expanding collection of special interest titles and follows the acquisition of Wedding Ideas magazine in August 2016. The Print Edition is stocked in 24 countries worldwide with the Digital Edition and Online Journal available online via the Popshot Magazine website. The magazine is published bi-annually, releasing a new issue every April and October, each with a different theme. The Chelsea Magazine Company has acquired Popshot Magazine, a contemporary illustrated literary magazine that publishes short stories, flash fiction, and poetry for up-and-coming authors and illustrators.
